FAQ

Why does our weight change with age

How do you know if your bodyweight changes?

A person who has less body fat than their muscle mass will experience weight loss. This means that the amount of calories consumed must exceed the amount of energy used daily. Low activity levels are the most common cause for weight loss. Others include pregnancy, hormonal imbalances or certain medications. Weight gain occurs when there is more fat than muscle mass. It occurs when people eat more calories than what they use in a given day. There are many reasons for this, including overeating and increased physical activity.

The primary reason we lose weight is that we consume less calories than what we burn. When we exercise regularly, we increase our metabolism rate which burns off more calories throughout the day. This does not necessarily mean that we will get thinner. What is more important is whether or not our body is losing or gaining weight. Weight loss is possible if you burn more calories than you consume. But, if we consume far more calories than what we burn, then we actually store them as fat.

As we age, we become less agile and don't move as often. We also tend to consume less food than when we were younger. As a result, we gain weight. However, our muscle mass is more important than we realize and makes us appear larger.

Without weighing yourself each week, there is no way to know how much weight you have lost. There are many ways you can measure your weight. You can gauge your waist size, hips, hips, thighs and arms. Some people prefer using bathroom scales and others prefer tape measure.

You can track your progress by weighing yourself at least once per week and measuring your waistline every month. You can also take pictures of yourself every few months to see how far you've come.

Online, you can find out your height and weight. If you're 5'10' tall and weigh 180lbs, you'd likely weigh 180lbs.
